I really couldn't figure out from the bodgy online translations what this is about - I think it's memorializing some military event - save that it's a new (not quite finished) public sculpture in (I think) Moscow. These are meant to be swimming horses so presumably water will be cascading down when it's finished. More images: here and here.
The minerals set © V. Makarenko from the wonderful Hiero site (where I spent an hour wandering) - I guess it's sort of a compilation site for russian artists/photographers. Lots of surrealist/fantasy/graphics/etched photos.
And after taking the pics from the pdf, I think the jpegs are much much better.
{After looking around a little bit more, it seems to come from this sci-fi writer, Sergey Lukyanenko (page in english) where there are, at first glance, a lot more illustrations available.
I've actually posted about Vladimir Gvozdev's sublime mechart sketches elsewhere previously but I happened to notice that he's added a few choice pieces in the last couple of months. They have that victorian steampunk feel combined with an alien natural history textbook...or something. Brilliant artist.
Update: The artist himself tells me his surname is Gvozdev and the name of the site is Gvozdariki.
